The Southwest Florida Land Preservation Trust is a Florida-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation (EIN #65-0066474) founded in 1988 that provides general oversight for development of the Gordon River Greenway. This work includes project management support (such as scheduling meetings and recording/distributing minutes) as well as marketing, development and educational activities.

The Greenway Partners are financing the pre-construction and construction expenses.

The mission of the Trust is “To facilitate public and private interests in creating and preserving the Gordon River Greenway in Collier County for public use, recreation, resource protection and natural area preservation within the riverine system.”

As Collier County’s growth continues, demands on its precious natural resources will escalate. The Southwest Florida Land Preservation Trust will ensure that County residents of today and tomorrow will enjoy the beauty that lured them to this area and, therefore, will make a significant contribution to conserving, and in fact embracing, our quality of life.

Board of Directors

The SWFLPT is headed by a distinguished Board of Directors encompassing a broad representation of individuals interested in the use of land. Included are environmentalists, developers, design and planning professionals, members of the business community and government officials.
